1. The social practice I have observed in relation to this disaster is the placing of blame on BP. After witnessing the disaster on the news and reading about it they have their idea of who to blame. Entertainment (TV news) pop cycle has circulated certain images and ideas about the event, and that has translated into the personal databases and then redistributed into the public (on Twitter).
2. There exists the open ended discussion and relay of opinions and emotions on internet. Reading about someones response can help form your own, especially if you are unfamiliar to the topic. Twitter: Do not read about the facts of a story (as in literacy) but rather the spread of emotions and pictures that invoke a feeling (punctum). People who are familiar with who Twitter works can both be effected emotionally, and affect others.
3. Idea: A webpage that displays the amount of Barrels of oil dumped into the Gulf, while similarly displaying the number of flights in progress, or cars on the road. Maybe they are both in the form of block and they combine to create a city skyline.
